Viera girls golf advances to regional tournament after second-place finish at districts

The Viera High girls golf team is moving on.

The Hawks finished second at the Class 3A, District 16 tournament held at the Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach. That puts Viera in the regional tournament, which is scheduled to be held Wednesday at Cleveland Heights Country Club in Lakeland. The top three teams will advance to the state tournament.

Ana Maria Tea shot 84 for the Hawks. Brittany Odic finished with an 87. Vivian Luu and Katie Latham both shot 89. Heart Gerosano came in with a 92.

It’s been quite a season for Viera, which went 14-0 in the regular season and won the Cape Coast Conference tournament with Tea winning medalist honors.
